Philmont Phamily Weekend
September 10-12, 1999
For twenty years, Troop 80 attended the council sponsored fall weekend camp at Philmont, N.M., open to all scouting units. This was a family weekend adventure in which there was intense Father-Son competition, with the winners receiving a nice folding knife or multi-tool. Ribbons were awarded for the top five places, with fourth place receiving the "Dreaded Pink Ribbon." 1999 was the last year that the Troop attended this event. Dads and sons would plan all year long just to compete and hope to win the knife (and avoid the pink ribbon).
