Over
100 scouts, parents, brothers and sisters attended the 50th Troop 80
Christmas banquet at the Jack Bryant Scout Center on December 14,
2004. This year's guest speaker was Brandon
Wolfram (Eagle
1995), who challenged the scouts to be men of character and to be
followers of Jesus. Brandon is currently the field director for
Fellowship of Christian Athletes in El Paso, Texas. Music was lead
by James
Savage (Eagle
1966) and Michael
Walker (Eagle
1993). The meal was catered by Catering
by JT's, with
the real work being done by Brandon
Merrill (Eagle
1994). Blaine Thompson (SPL 1999; Eagle 1999) was seen hanging
around for a while before everything cranked up. Jim Gwinn was
presented the Duct Tape Award, an award created by John Banks many years
ago. The R.T.
Abrahamson
Outstanding Scout Award went to Colton
Morris.
The Jack Bryant Leadership Award went to Tristun Fithen (Eagle 2004),
who also served as Senior Patrol Leader for 2004. The Skill Patrol
for 2004 was the Blackfeet Patrol, B1, with Addison
Stucky.
The Outstanding Patrol for 2004 was the Mohawk Patrol, B3, with Colton
Morris as patrol leader. The Duty, Honor, Courage Award went to
the Seminole Patrol, A2, with Austin
Fielding as
patrol leader. Holden Stucky received a special award for being a
good scout. Special guests included the Golden Spread Council
Field Director Doug
Cooper and the
Golden Eagle District Executive Rhett
Stevens. |

Tree
season was a great success, with the Troop selling out on Saturday
morning, December 18. Many thanks to Duane
Glasco and Carl
Johnson for
running the day shift, and to all the parents and scouts who worked
so hard on the tree lot.
