^^WATER POLO FINALS^^

Blackfeet 3, Seminole 0.

In an overwhelming display of too many bodies for the patrol to handle. Stucky led the Blackfeet to victory over undermanned eleven year old scouts. However, the Blackfeet are well deserving of the crown, not ever being seriously contested for the championship. In retrospect, the Seminole have nothing to hang their heads over since they just joined this year and won two games to get to the finals. They will be back.

++THANKS B SQUAD++

B Squad and others have been busy. The boys in the Blackfeet and Mohawk patrols, plus the Johnson Bros., sold cookie dough to raise money for a new Troop computer. Westgate Computers (Tim and Sue Monaghan) gave the troop a great price. James Spencer came up with the idea and also got a new monitor donated. The computer is very powerful and will serve the troop for many years. Many thanks to all who helped make this possible.

 <<<<<SNEED RANCH>>>>>>

Great camp! Annual chain saw fest. Spencer led the Mohawks and Seminoles on an over night adventure, but they do not get credit for Hike miles. Henry, you need to rescue your boys from this. Blackfeet win the Mini-camporee, Mohawks took second and Kiowa finished third. Great food. Garry Wood cooked up brisket and ribs for dinner, with Johnny Wood preparing the fixings. Patrols did outstanding job of campsite preparation. Aaron did not ride the zip line. Will need to rebuild bridge next year. RT is doing the engineering. Something about airlift, D-9 cats and dynamite. Can’t wait.

>>>>SCOTT RANCH<<<<

Great Camp! In case you did not get to go to this camp, you missed one of the better camps in recent years. We camped under great towering red cedar trees, some 80 feet tall. The troop performed like men of yore, helping clear brush in our camp area. Softball games went on for hours and some scouts even rescued a frog from being eaten by a snake. We are already looking forward to going back next time.

50 YEAR REUNION

RAILROADING MERIT BADGE

Seven great scouts completed Railroading Merit Badge by traveling from Amarillo to Durango, Colorado to ride The Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Rail Road. The trip was a super “Dash and Crash,” with the crew leaving Amarillo April 1 and coming back April 4. Real “April Fools.” The trip was worth it. The boys not only rode the train and see beautiful scenery, but also had a tour of the actual round house and the back shop where the D&S rebuilds all its equipment. This area is restricted from public view, and was a special privilege to tour it. Some of the machines in the shop were older than the railroad itself. We are indebted to the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Rail Road for their hospitality. The crew was: Jake and Will Chappell, Dawson Simmons, Josh and Christopher Johnson, A.J. Pagett, and Austin Jones, Scott Chappell, David Johnson, and Tom Jones.
