January 2008

January 4 – 6, 2008

Scouts Attended: 25
Adults Attended: 5

This last weekend 25 potential leaders went through a mental, physically tough and exhausting weekend. All who attended learned many new things. They participated and successfully passed COPE (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experiences). They all conquered their fears when they leaped off a 30 ft pole and free fell for a short distance until they were stopped in mid air. They learned new leadership skills and they were all prepared to become leaders within the Troop for 2008. Although all have proven themselves this weekend, only 4 will be selected to become “new boy” Patrol Leaders for 2008. All who are Star Rank and attended this weekend will be eligible to run for Patrol Leader this next Tuesday. The existing patrols will elect their new officers for 2008 this coming Tuesday night. All who attended learned through different activities the true meaning of “Trust”, “Patrol Loyalty”, and “Teamwork”. This is going to be an exciting new year and I’m looking forward to working with all the new elected or appointed officers. Congratulations to Reno Moats! RenoReno will have the first choice of assignment as a Patrol Leader / Troop Guide.
